Textbook Infusion with the Balanced Math Framework

This advanced workshop requires existing understanding of the balanced math framework. Prerequisite: a problem solving, fact fluency, first 20 days and launch, or other balanced math workshop(s) with the Flessners.

You’re trying to implement what you know about problem solving, fact fluency and maintenance, and number work, but you also have a textbook that you’re required to use in your district. If you feel stuck, unsure how all of these ideas intersect with the textbook, this workshop is for you.

See how other districts have customized curriculum by starting with a textbook, identifying key teaching points in individual lessons, and adapting those lessons to provide more tasks that allow students to think deeply, collaborate, and take mathematical risks.

We invite you to bring your own textbooks as we will provide time for you to plan and then practice what you have created.

This workshop has been rescheduled from its originally slated date. Registration has re-opened.
