Digital Profiles

The immersion phase of this unit of study follows the typical pattern of immersion in a genre study (making noticings, expert definitions, sifting, immersion II). In this unit of study students will be exposed to both print and digital profiles.  They will be asked to make noticings about both types of profiles, and will begin to differentiate between the two.  After uncovering an expert definition of digital profiles, students will sift out profiles and red herrings that are not like what they will be making.  During the final phase of immersion students will look closely at digital profiles to uncover the theme of the profile.
